Pets Behind the People Part II
If you think the Montanya Crew is passionate about rum, wait until you see how we feel about our pets. In this second installment of Pets Behind the People, we meet a few more of the furry, four-legged family members who keep us all on the up and up. (Miss the first post? Check it out here!)
Duke
For our National Sales Director, Rob Richardson, and his husband Joe, it is all about Duke… and we can see why. Loves to travel. Plays ball well with others. He is a big poser (inventor of the dog selfie, we’re told) and loves to dress up. All around mountain enthusiast. He even steals the show in Rob’s employee spotlight.
Reggie
a.k.a. Andrea’s little angel or "Reginald," as his human brother calls him.
Reggie is a 10-year-old rescue swooped up from a shelter in Texas because his time was up (thank you, Gunnison Underdog Rescue!). Our Director of HR and Business Development, Andrea Schultz, has been his foster mom for four months—we suspect it will become a permanent arrangement. He can take down a raw hide like nobody's business (which he learned after Andrea held the first few for him) and one ear is always to the side when they are up. Perhaps most endearing, Reggie likes to place a paw on Andrea’s shoulder while she drives.
Kitty
Bartender Maddie Manning adopted this sweet cat from Gunnison Valley Animal Welfare League. Kitten likes to play catch with her toys when she gets the zoomies, but sometimes her favorite toy is just a little twist tie. She likes to cuddle at night and roll in dirt during the day. In the mornings she like to cackle at the birds snacking on the bird feeder while Maddie and her boyfriend drink their coffee.
RJ and Roger
Don’t let the size of these pups full you. Our consulting chef, Rose Reyes, will tell you these two are mountain dogs through and through (and as seen in the photo, love traveling too). RJ the chihuahua (left) recently passed away. He was Rose’s sweet angel that her mom gifted her when she left this earth. Roger is a chi-weenie. He’s Rose’s baby, who chased a bear out of her house when he was just one year old. Fearless!
