Employee Spotlight: Graham Barr

Montanya Cook Graham Barr

Graham cooks and does food prep at the Montanya Tasting Room, and are we ever glad he found his way to us. He’s one of those dependable types who comes into work and quietly gets things done, never getting flapped or stressed or making a big deal about being busy. He’s finishing up his degree at Western Colorado University this semester. We’re excited for his accomplishments and excited to see what the future brings for Graham!

Finding Crested Butte

I grew up just outside of Boulder in a small city called Louisville. When I graduated high school, I started touring universities in Colorado and really liked Western and the Gunnison Valley. I am now finishing up my final semester at Western with a business major and accounting minor. I have been here for four years and I still love it.

On Seeing the World

I think that traveling is one of the most important things a person can do. So far, I have been to 16 countries, but I’m always planning the next trip. I would say my favorite place so far has been either Vietnam or Australia.

Always on the Move

In the summer, you can find me kayaking or mountain biking. In the winter, I like to ski and snowmobile. Fall and spring are kind of a mix of the two seasons depending on the current weather. I also love to kiteboard but living in Colorado makes that difficult.

Magic of Barrels

Much of the flavor from rum comes from the barrels where it ages, including natural sweetness.
