Employee Kristin Fitzgerald is a House Ambassador and Bartender in the Tasting Room at Montanya Distillers. She says that she and Karen (our owner and founder) hit it off right away when they first met, and Karen confirms that the feeling was mutual. In fact, Karen set about wooing Kristen to come work at Montanya Distillers soon after they met. Now people ask Karen all the time if Kristin is her daughter, which she takes as the ultimate compliment. Kristin brings so much to Montanya with an amazing smile and her exceptional customer service. And we’re pretty darn impressed with the things she does outside of work too (seriously, can we go along on her next trip?)

Finding CB and Montanya

I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I grew up coming out to CB and always loved it and wanted to be out here. I met Karen when I worked at a local coffee shop and we connected. I have been at Montanya for over two years now and absolutely love it.

Outside of “The Office”

Whenever I'm not doing what I'm supposed to be doing, you can find me climbing. The Taylor, the Black and the Creek are some favorites. If I was an animal, I'd be an Ibex, because they are seriously badass climbers.

[Editor’s note: The Taylor Canyon is an area about 20 minutes south of Crested Butte and is one of the local climbing “crags.” Black Canyon of the Gunnison is perhaps best described as the Grand Canyon of Colorado and reportedly got its name because the gorge only receives 33 minutes of sunlight per day. And the Creek refers to Indian Creek, an area near Canyonlands National Park in Utah that is known for climbing and incredible rock formations.]
