Pets Behind the People: Part III
If you’re looking for proof that Montanya employees love their pets, there’s probably no better evidence than how many we have. In this third installment of Pets Behind the People, we pose an important question: why have just one dog?
Kratos and Tilly
This dynamic duo keeps Head Distiller Renee Newton company on the great big adventure called life. Kratos is a 150-pound Great Dane/Mastiff otherwise known as a mastadane. He loves long walks and snuggling, and can be quite a ham. Renee jokes that he’s bigger than her last roommate.
Tilly, on the other hand, does her best to match Kratos’ size with her personality. It’s said that her bark is worse than her bite, but that’s not from a lack of trying. (She also has a pretty typical CB story: came from the East Coast for a Crested Butte Winter, fell in love with the summers and stayed—and like so many humans around these parts, gets after it hard and learned early to have an orthopedic on speed dial. )
Ellie and Bodie
These “muttlets” (a.k.a. breeds unknown) found their way to our VP of Strategy and Communications, Alissa Johnson, through Colorado rescue groups. Ellie migrated from Texas and Bodie came from New Mexico. While they were both a bit surprised by snow and -20 degree weather (that’s Fahrenheit), they made themselves right at home. When Ellie’s not hiking peaks, swimming at the local reservoir or showing off her toy lion, she can be found grooming Bodie. He’s happiest when he’s getting pets (no such thing as too many) and has been known to sleep with his chin on Ellie’s back.
Doug and Gracie
This pair knows how to live the good life. Doug is almost always found with one of his stuffed animals, and Gracie is either cuddling with PR Manager Jenny Foust and her family, or soaking in the sunshine.
Peter and Griswold
Our Head Chef Nunu reports that Peter is a ladies man (can’t you just tell?) who loves cuddling, a good butt scratch, wrestling, looking outside the window, swimming, and playing in and eating snow. He gets a kick out of chasing Nordic skiers but also lives life on the comfortable side—you’ll rarely find him laying on the floor. Most definitely the laziest of the two!
Griswold (the Shepard) loves playing fetch, paddle boarding, swimming, shredding his toys and purrs like a cat when you cuddle and scratch him. He’s very inquisitive, talkative and energetic, making him the protector of the family. He always says hi back and has a couple tricks up his sleeve for a good treat... and if that’s not enough, he’s the daily 6am alarm for Nunu and her husband!
