Cocktails for Every Spring Occasion
Spring comes late to the mountains, but all it takes is the first warm, sunny day for patios to fill up around town—snowbanks won’t rain on our parade. Here are a few of our favorite spring cocktails to welcome the new season:
Patio Classics
There’s something about a cold beer, a sweaty glass, and soaking in some Vitamin D. But why choose between a beer and rum? Dress your beer up with the Renegade Rum Cocktail, which combines nonalcoholic beer or your favorite IPA with Montanya Platino.
If beer isn’t your beverage of choice, the Sonic is a light, refreshing cocktail that mixes soda and tonic with Platino and fresh lime juice. It tastes like spring!
May Day
We love a splash of color on May Day, which leads us to one of two choices: the Berry Jive, made bright by fresh strawberries or a combination of fresh strawberries and raspberries, or the blueberry-rich Thai Boxer. Both make use of fresh herbs and Montanya Platino, but the Berry Jive will be finished off with fruit juice and the Thai Boxer with ginger ale and seltzer.
Cinco de Mayo
Of course we have to recommend the Señorita, our version of a margarita with a spicy kick. We are very excited to announce a Cinco de Mayo pre fixe dinner with Chef Rose Reyes at Montanya. Stay tuned!
Mother’s Day
Add a classy touch to the Mother’s Day brunch with Honey Lemonade. Montanya Platino, fresh squeezed lemon, honey lavender syrup and a few fresh mint leaves transform lemonade into a delicious rum cocktail.
Light and Refreshing
You don’t need a special occasion to enjoy a rum cocktail. When you’re in the mood for something fancy, try the Cucumber Templar. It’s beautiful in the glass and takes the idea of a rum and tonic to a whole new level.
