Elixer Rum Cocktail Recipe

This hot cocktail was the perfect addition to the winter menu for those days when you need a little warmup.

Glass:

Fluted Irish Mug

In Pyrex:

1 oz honey syrup
.75 oz ginger
1/2 lemon

Fill with hot water above the 4 oz line and heat in the microwave for one minute. Add to glass with:

1 oz Topsider Infusion (see recipe below)
1 oz Oro

Sprinkle with cayenne and garnish with an orange twist. For a more aromatic experience, ignite the orange essence as our founder and owner Karen Hoskin does in this video from our winter menu tasting (you may a few very impressed staff in the background!):

 
 

Topsider Infusion:

1 Long slice of orange peel
2 Cinnamon sticks
1 Vanilla bean
1 Bottle Oro

Grind cinnamon sticks coarsely with mortar and pestle. Add all ingredients to Oro and infuse for three days. Strain and decant and refrigerate for up to 30 days.
